Goals of Kern Bridges Youth Homes PDF Print E-mail
KBYH serves children who are robbed of their childhoods, who frequently live each day not knowing if their parents are going to feed them, or if they will be sleeping in a park, or if they will ever attend school. Many of their parents have abandoned their parental responsibilities long before these children are removed from their custody. Most of our residents have been abused: physically, sexually, emotionally.... They come to our door with tremendous issues of rejection and neglect. They are truly wounded, their spirits, and their souls.

Condors Charity Golf Tournament PDF Print E-mail
The 13th Annual Condors Golf Tournament sponsored by Bakersfield South Rotary and Citizens Business Bank is scheduled for October 25th.  Shotgun start at 12:00.  This tournament always sells out so get your entry fee in if you want to play and join us in helping the abused and neglected children cared for by Kern bridges Youth Homes.

10K Grant provided to KBYH PDF Print E-mail
The California Foundation for Stronger Communities (CFSC) has presented Kern Bridges Youth Homes with a $10,000.00 grant. The Board of Directors of the California Foundation for Stronger Communities, a California non-profit public benefit corporation, acts as the Board of Directors for the California Municipal Finance Authority (CMFA). Chevron Community Spirit Award PDF Print E-mail
Chevron Corporation provided Kern Bridges Youth Homes with a $5,000.00 Community Spirit Award. One thousand dollars is for training materials. Four thousand dollars is to buy first apartment starter kits for youth emancipating from the foster care system. Eight youth will each get $500.00 to purchase specific supplies that range from tweezers, to aspirin, to a plunger to stock up their first living situation away from foster care.
